What is the Process?

1. 1First, we start with a records appointment where we get a 3D image of your full smile and a panoramic x-ray of your jaw.
2. 2SureSmile uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.
3. 3The aligners are made through a combination of Dr. Ossman's expertise and 3D computer imaging/design technology.
4. 4You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. For maximum effectiveness, we recommend wearing your aligners 22 hours a day.
5. 5As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Ossman has prescribed.
6. 6You'll visit Dr. Ossman about once every 6-8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
7. 7Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Why SureSmile and Not Invisalign or Other Clear Aligners?

The main reason is that we generally see fewer refinements than Invisalign and other clear aligner systems, which leads to a shorter treatment time for our patients!
